prédire, intention et but
Pour indiquer ses objectifs
1. Predictions
On a un ou des indices qui permettent de « deviner » ce qui va probablement se passer.
Ex : le ciel est noir, je prédis de la pluie
Structure en anglais :
Sujet + am.is/are + going to + Vb (+compléments)
Exemples :
It’s going to rain. She’s going to have a baby. They’re going to knock down the old factory.
Remarque : A la forme négative, on ajoute le “not” à “am” (= ‘m not), à “are” (= aren’t), et à “is” (= isn’t)
2. Intentions
Structure : même que pour les prédictions
Exemple : (at the local council house)
- Journalist to Mayor : “Sir, what are you going to do?”
- Mayor : “We’re going to cut down some trees, we’re going to close down the factory and we’re going to knock down the greengrocer’s.”
- Journalist : “Are you going to close down the park?”
- Mayor : “No, we aren’t.”
3. Objectifs, buts Structure : to+ Vb (+ compléments) Ex : (They’re going to cut some trees) to build a sports centre. Mot question : what … for? Ex de question : (la plus courte) What for ? (à la suite d’intentions annoncées) What are you going to put on your tennis shoes for ? To play tennis.
