This document is a video, showing a report on education in South Africa.
These South African pupils/ children have to run 4 miles to go to school,
They wear 8 year old shoes. / They wear worn out (= very old) shoes.
It rains in their school because there are 7 roof leaks. There are 11 broken windows and 3 unusable chairs, so we can imagine the school is very old
In the school there are 17 teachers who are passionate (they are very interested in teaching) and 674 pupils with hungry minds (they are happy and “hungry” for school = they want to learn).
There is only 1 television and 1 channel which is a learning channel called Liberty Learning Channel.
This sound makes us think of a cool, happy African music. It sounds like the noise of an animal, a laugh. It makes me think of a train ( because of the bell and the whistle) or a school bell with children in the playground. We can hear a whistle, it makes us think of games like football. In the end, we can hear drums. It makes me feel happy. It sounds like a celebration.
The conclusion says that every pupil passes his exam (“matric pass rate : 100%”) ; the document highlights (underlines = stresses) the fact that the pupils ran to school for 4 years, which means they were happy to go to school and to learn : maybe it is because they were “hungry” to learn that they passed their exam.
In fact this document is an advert (= publicity) for Liberty Foundation, a programme that wants to give children the opportunity to get a better education, and get a better life thanks to their diplomas.
SEQUENCE 1

We can hear a whistle, it makes us think of games like football. In the end, we can hear drums. It makes me feel happy.

Conclusion : Although they are poor, the school is old, and they have to walk a long way to go to school, the pupils look happy (they run to school), they want to learn, and the teachers are passionate.
