In question 1, people are asked if they believe in magic.

à you devient they (parce qu’on parle des gens qui ont répondu)
à if introduit la question prononcée
à ? devient le verbe ask puisqu’il s’agit de question
à do n’apparaît pas dans la forme indirecte (caché derrière believe)
Remarque : seul « do » « disparaît » dans la forme indirecte, « does » devient un « s » à la fin du verbe, et les autres opérateurs restent présents.
